About Us
I wanted to introduce y’all to the faces behind New Orleans Secret Garden of Love and Oddities.
My wife Sara and I have been together since our senior year of high school, about 11 years now and we’ve been married for 2 1/2 years. We were both raised in New Orleans and have no intention of leaving anytime soon. The two little handsome men you see in our arms are Snickers and Egg. Both were rescues and are the best doggos ever!
When I was young my grandpa introduced me to the world of gardening. We would do experiments and propagations in his garage and it blew my mind. He would graft fruit trees together and make new plants and at the time it all seemed like magic to me.
Gardening went on the back burner for me through high school and college for the most part. Once I got my own place, my intrigue started to grow again. I started with small plants on my porch that grew into a large container garden. Once we bought a house, I was really able to go wild and try things. Over the last couple of years, my once hobby and fascination turned into an obsession! Now that obsession is evolving once again.
Unfortunately Papa Earl passed away on January 25th, 2020 and he never got to see the development of the shop into what it is today. He was and always will be my inspiation for gardening. He taught me to love plants. He taught me the magic of plants. Every plant I pot or cutting I take makes me think of him. Although he is gone his love of plants and gardening stays with me and keeps me moving forward.
